PAlmost three months after Françoise Hardy died at the age of 80, following a long battle with cancer, her son, Thomas Dutronc, has agreed to lift the veil on his mother’s final moments. The singer remained at Françoise Hardy’s bedside until the end.

In an interview for The Parisianthe 51-year-old musician revealed that the singer had “not committed euthanasia”, despite the severe pain that accompanied her at the end of her life.

A long battle

The icon of the sixties was nevertheless in favour of the right to die with dignity and had supported euthanasia in an interview given to Paris Match in 2023, declaring that he wanted to leave “as soon as possible, as quickly as possible and as painlessly as possible”.

Jacques Dutronc’s son also shared Françoise Hardy’s last family moments, as she kept her sense of humor until the end. “The weekend before she died, we watched the Roland-Garros final together,” he confided. “She had trouble speaking but she still made us laugh.” […] She fought a lot.
