Verdun-en-Lauragais. Seniors’ Club: the weather postpones the outing

For many years, the Verdun seniors’ club has resumed its activities in the countryside, in the hamlet of the commune of Jean Raymond. This year, the weather decided otherwise, and the 71 participants in the barbecue gathered in the village hall of the holiday village. And it must be said that some people excelled relatively well in preparing the menu.

For the aperitif, it was Marie Line who showed us her pizzaiolo talents, by making 10 pizzas cooked in a wood-fired oven. For the salad and the gratin dauphinois, also cooked in a wood-fired oven, Annette, Claudie, Michèle, Nadège and Sylvie did flawlessly. For the gentlemen, the prize goes to Guy for the excellent grill, and to Régis, for the perfect heating of his wood-fired oven. All the participants had a superb day, with some songs accompanied by Christian’s accordion, always so energetic to enhance the meal with music. The next events were announced by the president, with the chicken in the pot at Cammazes, the visit of the cellars for the new wine in Gaillac, and finally the end-of-year meal.
