Lily Collins, who plays Emily in the eponymous series, told the magazine Elle to be delighted and honored to have been able to film alongside Brigitte Macron. It was last April, when the First Lady went to the film set. She played a short scene in which she plays her own role.
Rumors were already circulating about Brigitte Macron’s participation in the Netflix series. Indeed, several media outlets, The Point et Paris Match in particular, had made public his visit to the set. The Daily Mail had immediately thought of an appearance in the series. But Brigitte Macron, no more than the producers of the series, had not confirmed anything.

Emily in Paris tells the story of Emily, a young American woman who came to settle in Francein Paris, for her job. In season 1, we had already seen Brigitte Macron. That’s not all, because Kate Walsh, another character in the series, also mentioned Brigitte Macron, without naming her directly: “French people like older women. Look at their president”.

According to Elle magazine, Brigitte Macron would be a real fan of the Netflix series. She watches all the episodes. In November 2022, during the filming of season 3, she even received actors Darren Star and Lily Collins at the Élysée. The latter also confided that “The idea for the cameo came to us when Darren and I met her”.
“She’s a big fan of the series and she took the mention of her character in season 1 with a lot of humor”she also assures. Darren Star, for his part, congratulated Brigitte Macron for her acting skills.
