Netflix regularly makes new films and series available to its subscribers. Thus, since January 10, a new feature has entered the platform. It is aboutTo Life. This 1h36 feature film was directed by Rodolphe Lauga and features, in particular, Guillaume Canet in a thrilling thriller. The story is that of a man named Franck, a former member of the GIGN, who escapes a murder attempt. His goal? Trying to find his wife Léo kidnapped by a group of armed men. Unfortunately, his past will catch up with him and everything will not go as planned.
But then what are the results? Is the team satisfied with the first results? Without a doubt… As the 51-year-old actor revealed on Instagram, in ten days, the film totaled 42.6 million full views. To Life is even entered the top 10 of 93 countries this week. “Thanks, huge! It’s extraordinary. Thank you so much” wrote Marcel and Louise’s dad on the social network.
It must be said that nothing happens without something. In order to best get into the skin of his character, Guillaume Canet gave of himself. So, for three monthsthe companion of Marion Cotillard trained hard. To do this, he was coached by a former member of the PSIG (Gendarmerie Surveillance and Intervention Platoon). Result: he himself was able perform a large part of his stunts.
Guillaume Canet: an (almost) family film
If this film is close to the heart of Guillaume Canet it is for several reasons. Indeed, in addition to playing the main role, he worked extensively on the script alongside Rodolphe Lauga and… his son is in the casting! Indeed, Marcel Canet, 13, responds to his father. He plays Antoine, the teenage son of his friend who died on a mission. It’s not his first time on screen since in the film Asterix and Obelix: The Middle Kingdom directed by his father, the young man played Asterix as a teenager.
-In “50′ Inside” on TF1, the actor was delivered transparently on the subject of his eldest’s budding career: “From the moment he wants it, we are obliged to put our foot down. I much preferred it to be done with me. Afterwards, we monitor it closely, because we know that it’s a bit young to start with!“, he admitted. So will we see Marcel in the second part of To Life ? It’s not done but given the success of the film there is no doubt that directors and screenwriters must think about a sequel.
