In the Impasse des Couffinades, an elegant building called Les Jardins de Seilh houses an Apart’Ages residence, the first in France of this type, housing a shared housing structure for isolated, vulnerable but relatively independent people. It contains four large T5s of 135m² each containing four private bedrooms with bathroom and a common area: living room, dining room, kitchen, two terraces. When you push the door, a feeling of quality emerges from the whole. And the discussion with the residents confirms that the place is warm and that they feel comfortable there.
Four residents per apartment but each has their own room
“We are here to help them live normally in a secure structure with a certain level of comfort,” explains Philippe Humery, director of Apart’Âges. range, an equipped kitchen with dryer, washing machine, food processor, small and large appliances, individual heating, air conditioning, telephone Our all-inclusive package includes, in addition to accommodation, the various services (food, laundry, entertainment, etc.). workshops, outings, transport vehicle). Four people live in the apartment accompanied by a housekeeper present all day from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. who coordinates the life of the house. Our residents establish a life charter. “We were unable to install a common room, activities are offered in the different apartments with real exchanges.”
The social landlord Alteal de Colomiers, owner of the walls and land, supported the project, granting a 40-year management agreement.
“A social landlord always supports the project to display reasonable prices and allow as many people as possible to benefit from it. In Seilh, the remaining cost, thanks to the help of the departmental council, is €1,350.”
Marie-Christine, one of the oldest, confides: “We are very well surrounded and we have broken the solitude!”
The building is almost complete but a trial is offered to visit, spend a day, share a meal, interact with residents.
