A new version of the child’s health record

This new health record aims to personalize medical monitoring thanks to advice adapted to each age group. Parents therefore have precise recommendations on the health and well-being of their child.

An important place is given to prevention to take into account new health recommendations and societal developments. Messages for parents have been updated on the following points:

  • advice on raising your child without violence;
  • tables relating to the introduction of foods;
  • advice regarding the child’s sleep;
  • advice on using screens;
  • benchmarks for detecting neurodevelopmental disorders.

Questions about practicing physical activity have also been added.

Now all twenty compulsory health examinations are detailed, with the creation of a new examination at the age of six.

Namely

The new health record must be given to the doctor who usually follows the child so that he can complete the missing data (vaccinations for example) from his own file. It is also advisable to note the child’s vaccinations in the electronic vaccination record of My health space (shared medical file).

Rappel

The health record is an essential tool for parents and health professionals, it guarantees medical monitoring throughout the child’s growth. It is issued free of charge to the maternity ward by the departmental council. The dematerialization of the health record should be integrated, by the end of 2026, into the child’s digital health space (My Health Space). It will also remain available in paper format.

A new vaccination obligation against meningococci

Since 1is January 2025, a new vaccination obligation for infants came into force against ACWY meningococci and against meningococcus B. Vaccination against meningococcus C, already compulsory since 2018, is replaced by that against ACWY meningococci. Vaccination against meningococcus B, previously recommended, becomes compulsory. These new obligations are in addition to the 11 compulsory vaccines since 2018. This decision was taken in response to the increase in cases of meningitis in and the evolution of strains.

This evolution of vaccination obligations follows the recommendations of the High Authority of Health and the decree of July 5, 2024 relating to compulsory vaccination against meningococci type B and ACWY. It appears in the update of the new vaccination schedule.
