In the metropolis, Awakening For almost thirty years, it has been offering mutual aid, listening, activities, etc. to people who have suffered head trauma or brain damage. More recently, the association has also created shared habitats for its members.

There are four of them, comfortably seated on a soft sofa. They talk, watch and gently tease each other. Soon, it will be time to prepare dinner, but here, there is no question of just one roommate taking care of everything. Everyone pitches in, under the watchful eye of their home help.

This brick house, typical of the North and located in , houses a new type of shared accommodation. Its inhabitants live with the after-effects of cerebral or neurological accidents. Cyril has been living there since 2018 and is delighted: “ I was the victim of a car accident. After four years in , I discovered R’éveil and decided to stay. Here, I have much greater autonomy than before and I feel better integrated into society. »
