In detail, Sarthe is by far the most affected department, with more than 800 cases per 100,000 inhabitants. Conversely, a good half of Mayenne is below 225 cases per 100,000 inhabitants.
Sarthe is also affected by cases of acute diarrhea and chickenpox in much higher numbers than the rest of the region: four times more than the regional average for chickenpox, for example.
Barrier gestures
In a press release published this Friday, January 3, the Regional Health Agency indicates that the Pays de la Loire has been in an epidemic situation for influenza since December 9. And remember the good reflexes to limit contagion: “it is essential in this period of high epidemic circulation to respect barrier gestures: wash your hands frequently; ventilate the rooms (dwellings and professional premises) daily; use single-use tissues and cough or sneeze into your elbow; limit contact with people who have the flu and do not share objects with them (cutlery, towels, etc.); greet each other without shaking hands or kissing; wear a mask when you are sick, in busy places (public transport, in particular) and in the presence of vulnerable people. »
The ARS also reminds that the flu vaccination campaign, dedicated primarily to vulnerable people, continues until January 31.
