It is a neighborhood in the midst of a revolution. Et opening a business It foreshadows what residents will be able to find there in the near future. This is the Grand-Garros districtin Auch (Gers). As a reminder, the investment program for this priority district (QP) is 80 million euros.

A bigger pharmacy
Since Monday December 16, the Garros pharmacy, over 300 m2opened its doors to the public on rue Abel-Gardey, the main street of the district.
A teleconsultation center
Opened in 1973, the Garros pharmacy is a “structuring and emblematic business of the neighborhood”, assures the town hall. The new pharmacy and parapharmacy establishment has a surface area enlarged by 30% and also hosts a teleconsultation center, a vaccination area, a space dedicated to orthopedicsas well as a space dedicated to pharmaceutical interviews reserved for patients suffering from serious or chronic pathologies.
“You are the locomotive as well as the pioneers of the commercial renaissance of the entire district. Also, I wish you all the best in these new, modern and attractive premises,” declared the mayor of Auch, Christian Laprébende, addressing the staff.
While waiting for Carrefour and La Poste, among others
The move of the old Garros shopping center will continue within a few weeks, assures the town hall, with the upcoming arrival of the butcher’s shop, the tobacco shopCarrefour City and La Poste. The deconstruction of the premises of the old shopping center will be carried out by the end of 2025.
By then, rue Abel-Garday will no longer have anything to do with the face it had a few years ago. As evidenced by this shot from 2009.

The game library at full speed
In recent weeks, the game library (at 85 rue Jeanne-d’Albret, behind the new shopping center) has also completely changed after rehabilitation estimated at 600,000 euros.
Since the opening of its new premises in October 2024, it has welcomed 731 people in just 18 days, an average of 40 people per day, with peaks exceeding 60 visitors.
