Health. Places are still available at the activity and stimulation center for people with Alzheimer’s disease or a neurocognitive disorder, at the -Société -Alzheimer du -Haut-Richelieu (SAHR), whose premises are located in -Saint-Jean–sur-Richelieu.

Stimulation activities make it possible to act on the physical, mental and social consequences relating to inactivity and long periods of sedentary lifestyle. It is also an additional way to boost self-esteem, improve sleep quality and ease anxiety.

Schedule and registration

Activities are offered for full days, Monday to Thursday, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and half-days on Fridays, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Cost

Full days are offered at a cost of $30 (including lunch and a snack) and half-days at a cost of $15.

This service is offered to people with a valid membership card. The latter is available at -SAHR at a cost of $35 per year or $150 for life.

Founded in 1989, the -Société -Alzheimer -Haut-Richelieu’s mission is to provide help and support to caregivers and people struggling with Alzheimer’s disease or other neurocognitive disorders, and their offer means and tools to prevent their deconditioning.

Its services are offered throughout the territory of the -MRC des -Jardins-de-Napierville, the -MRC du -Haut-Richelieu (except -Sainte-Bridige-d’Iverville), the -MRC de -Rouville (except -Saint -Paul-d’Abbotsford and -Ange-Gardien), as well as the towns of -Chambly and -Carignan.
