ALS League and Serviceplan celebrate 10 years of the ALS Bucket Challenge, but without its creators

The famous “ ALS Ice Bucket Challenge » celebrates its 10th anniversary! Of Taylor Swift has Mark Zuckerberg, from New York to Seoul via Paris, the whole world took part in this challenge which consisted of pouring ice water on each other and nominating their acquaintances to do it in turn. To date, he embodies one of the most viral trends for a medical cause, which has both highlighted the ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, or ALS in English) and to collect millions of donations in many countries.

On the occasion of the World ALS Day this June 21, ALS Liga – Ligue SLA and Serviceplan therefore wanted to celebrate the 10 years of the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge. By honoring the 3 people behind the project: Pete Frates, Anthony Senerchia And Pat Quinn. Guests who unfortunately will not take part in this anniversary, having since died of ALS.

Pete, Anthony and Pat will never see what their action caused: more scientific discoveries, more options in terms of care, and people who still today take turns to run the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge. The idea behind this campaign is to perpetuate their initiative and preserve this heritage.

With this action, ALS Liga – Ligue SLA is also relaunching a call for donations, which it is punctuating with a 3 km walk organized this June 21, from their office in Louvain to the ALS laboratories. If you want to make a donation, it’s via this link: https://doneer.als.be/fr
