A check for €1,071.82 was sent by the mayor of Issoudun, André Laignel, this Thursday, November 7 at the town hall of Issoudun to the president of the departmental committee of the League against cancer, doctor François Christiann .
Result of the actions carried out by the city and its partners as part of Pink October, this sum will benefit the League to carry out its research, prevention, care and assistance work for people particularly affected by breast cancer. .
“A very nice operation”
Happy with the success of the campaign, the mayor wanted to salute the actors of this success: “For this very wonderful operation, I would like to thank all the numerous partners who participated in the operations carried out throughout the month. »
He mentioned the €600 raised by the pink march of the Randonneurs de la Tour Blanche, the €230 brought in by the breast-shaped brioches from the pastry chefs at E.Leclerc d’Issoudun and the numerous awareness-raising measures put in place in the four corners of the city by the health mission manager, Agathe Marandon.
The president of the departmental committee of the League against Cancer also ensures that a majority of the funds collected are re-injected into actions carried out in Indre: “Once the research is funded, 80 to 85% of the funds remain in the department. »
A mobilization that must take place all year round
“It’s a very positive action. This is a great result which demonstrates a growing mobilization not only here in Issoudun but also in other places in the department”rejoices Dr. Christiann.
He nevertheless wishes to insist on the fact that mobilization must take place all year round: “We must be wary of this unique polarization around the month of October.
