a successful screening day

Thursday June 6, under the leadership of the Professional Territorial Health Community (CPTS) of Center Haute-Marne, a day of prevention and awareness of dermatological cancer took place, in the parking lot of the Félix-Grélot nursing home. This action was held thanks to the initiative of Patricia Konarski, vice-president of the CPTS and director of Félix-Grélot, and the president, Dr Claire Renaud, of Breuvannes-en-Bassigny. This screening was entirely funded by the CPTS. Beforehand, appointments had been made by 60 people who were able to benefit from this free diagnosis. This day was part of Prevention and Awareness Week for targeted skin cancer screening which takes place from June 10 to 16.

A medicobus from the Hocoia company was present with a medical team and all the necessary equipment, to offer patients the opportunity to check and control the various spots, wounds, plaques and itching of the skin which need to be checked regularly. Alongside the medicobus, stands from the Cancer League and Dr Scandola’s Regional Cancer Screening Coordination Center (CRCDC) were on site to provide information and raise awareness of the importance of carrying out the various cancer screenings.

During these meetings, patients were able to cool off with the smoothie bike and enjoy a good waffle. In the morning, we noted the presence of Thierry Ponce, mayor of Nogent, and Marie-Christine Simonnet, second deputy.
