which regions are moving the most?

LThe French still do not move enough, according to a study published by Public Health France, Tuesday June 11. According to the researchers, 72.9% of men and only 59.3% of women, aged 18 to 85, practiced sufficient regular physical activity. According to the recommendations of the World Health Organization (WHO), an adult should spend at least 30 minutes per day doing moderate to vigorous physical activity, or an equivalent per week.

In France, the regions where men are most active on a daily basis are Brittany (78.9%), Occitanie (77.2%), followed by Burgundy-Franche-Comté (76.7%). The top three is the same among women with averages of around 64%. Conversely, the study, carried out in 2021, revealed that on average one in five French people reported spending “more than seven hours a day in a sitting position”, even though a sedentary lifestyle is an aggravating risk factor for numerous diseases (cardiovascular, cancer, etc.).

Île-de-France at the bottom of the podium
