Frédéric Couvrat-Fleury is one of more than 64,000 seniors registered in in the Icope aging monitoring program offered by the Gérontopôle of University Hospital.

In his mobile phone, Frédéric Couvrerat-Fleury has carefully classified the numerous applications related to his health. Among them, Icope Monitor, developed by the Toulouse University Hospital gerontopôle according to the recommendations of the World Health Organization (WHO). A young 63-year-old retiree, Frédéric Couvrat-Fleury installed it a year and a half ago. “I am a hypochondriac and terribly worried. I listen to my body, I do all the screenings that are offered to me,” he admits while his television broadcasts Health Magazine.

An email and tests every six months

The monitoring steps, proposed in the Icope program, reassure the retiree. “I know that, every six months, there is a reminder email to take a questionnaire and tests, such as remembering three words to monitor my cognition or getting up from a chair five times in a row, as quickly as possible, to evaluate my mobility. My file is recorded, there is follow-up and in the event of a problem, I will be guided,” testifies Frédéric Couvrat-Fleury.

Thus, last September, when the Toulouse resident responded to the follow-up questionnaire, he indicated a “drop in morale”. “It was the little slack of the start of the school year but a nurse from the program called me back to discuss it, I felt that there was vigilance”, testifies Frédéric who also installed an application for monitoring of his hearing.
