The Souillac Rotary Club returned to the 2024-2025 school year, under the presidency of Sylvie Delcamp. This club, created in August 1991 in Gourdon under the name of Rotary Club of Gourdon en Quercy, then Gourdon-Souillac and finally Souillac-en-Quercy since 2007. Rotary is a global network of 1.2 million supportive decision-makers. Delivering solutions to the most pressing problems requires true commitment and vision. For more than 110 years, whether it’s literacy, peace, water or health, Rotary has worked with determination to improve living conditions around the world.

The Souillac club is involved in numerous actions in the region and internationally: – Trandoverte in Cahors for the benefit of the fight against school bullying, concert organized for the benefit of Hôpital Sourire in Cahors, financial aid to a club horse racing practicing equine therapy, financial aid for a young autistic woman allowing her to continue her studies, financial aid for Restos du coeur, interactive tablets for nursing homes, these new tools allowing residents to continue to open up to others and to the world, financial aid to Ukraine, eradication of polio in the world. On the latter point, Rotary launched the PolioPlus program in 1985 and became a founding member of the Global Polio Eradication Initiative in 1988. As a result, more than 2.5 billion children have received the vaccine oral against polio.

Also, financial contribution to the Rotary Foundation. The Rotary Foundation helps Rotary members advance global understanding, goodwill and peace through health, education, environmental protection and poverty alleviation. . It also organizes various conferences devoted to the life and work of Cunard by José Sobrecazes, the Brive book fair by François David, the accident of Flight AF447 Rio- of June 1, 2009 by Martine Lacoste. Rotary’s motto is “Serve First.” This is what the Souillac club strives to do.
