“Uhaju”, a brand new clinic for rehabilitation in Mayotte

The “Uhaju” (Tamarins in Shimaoré) clinic will open its doors in Mayotte on November 12. This day hospitalization medical care and rehabilitation establishment meets the significant needs of the population in this area. The group Les Flamboyants has chosen the Hauts Vallons area in Mamoudzou (Grande Terre) to set up operations. Healthcare professionals will welcome patients who are victims of road accidents, strokes, etc. to the specialized technical platform.

The Uhaju clinic is the first private medical care and rehabilitation establishment in Mayotte. The project led by the Les Flamboyants Group was validated by the ARS (Regional Health Agency) Mayotte after identifying the care needs in the 101st French department. For Aude d’Abbadie-Savalli, General Director of the Les Flamboyants group: “The clinic offers access to local care to the Mahorese population while promoting alternatives to full hospitalization. Mayotte is the French territory with the biggest delay in this provision of care.” Based in the Hamaha ZAC in the Hauts Vallons area in Mamoudzou, the Uhaju clinic can accommodate up to 30 patients daily for day hospitalization. This activity allows the rehabilitation, rehabilitation and reintegration of patients. This treatment in Mayotte allows patients to stay on their island, close to their families. This is a key factor in the patient journey. Ideally located near the Mayotte Hospital Center (CHM) and residential areas, this clinic will promote, in addition to the public offer, the health autonomy of the island.
