Alhassane Sidibé, Koranic master, faces 15 years of imprisonment at the Mafanco court of first instance. At the hearing on Tuesday, October 15, 2024, the prosecution requested his sentence to 15 years of criminal imprisonment in a case of rape of his student, aged 17 at the time of the facts. Detained since March 11, 2024, Alhassane Sidibé, Koranic master, is accused of raping a 17-year-old girl. On the stand, he admits to having had sexual relations, but consensual, with the young lady. “She was my girlfriend. I didn’t rape her. We had consensual sex. I never forced her to have sex with me. She and I love each other, and she was the one who approached me and I also felt that I loved her too. This is how we became cohabitees for 6 months. And I had sex with her several times, at my place, at home. I can say we had to have sex 5 times. I am a Quranic master and I have more than 50 students who come to learn the Quran at my home, including MC who is also my student. But I never had sexual relations with other learners. With MC, it’s because she’s my girlfriend, in the name of love,” he explained.
As for the victim’s father, he expressed his disappointment at the attitude of the Koranic master towards his daughter. He will then say that he has granted his forgiveness in the name of family grievance before asking that the accused return the money spent in this affair. “I am disappointed with the attitude of the Koranic master, I sent my daughter to him so that he can teach her the Koran, so that my daughter has knowledge about Islam. Unfortunately, he destroyed my daughter by taking away her dignity. My daughter was in the 11th grade and she was always among the top 5 in her class, because she is very intelligent… But, since it is her Koranic teacher, that he is a neighbor, her family came to ask me about him forgive for God’s sake. So, being a man of God, I forgive him. All I ask is that he pays all the expenses I incurred in this matter, which is 1 million 575 thousand Guinean francs. Besides, I have already given my daughter in marriage. She got married about three months ago,” said the father.
During the requisitions phase, the representative of the public prosecutor’s office, saying he was overwhelmed by the words of MC’s father, made it known that when it comes to the law, there is no family or neighborhood. Then, he will draw the judge’s attention to the aggravating circumstances before asking to detain Alhassane Sidibé in the bonds of prevention of acts of rape of a minor. For repression, he will require the conviction of the accused to 15 years of criminal imprisonment.
For his part, the defense lawyer will ask for mitigating circumstances for his client.
In his own defense, Alhassane Sidibé will ask for forgiveness from the court and from MC’s parents.
After listening to all parties, the judge adjourned the case until October 23 to render his decision.
