According to EDF Réunion, this power cut is due to a sudden but significant loss of production. “Several power plant motors failed at the same time“, informs the regional director of EDF.
EDF services have undertaken a gradual resupply of customers, but outages are still expected in the hours to come. “Until we have fully diagnosed the origins of this outage, we will continue to have some power cuts of 2 hours maximum in all the municipalities of Reunion Island.“, warns Dominique Charzat of EDF Réunion.
