The device arrived from Germany at the beginning of July 2024. Installed in (), near the Mon Grand Plaisir shopping center, the Medical Sky 78 imaging center now hasan MRI (Magnetic resonance imaging), inaugurated this Thursday, October 10, 2024.

Reduced waiting times

Weighing several tons, this technological gem latest generation, equipped with artificial intelligence (AI), will make it possible to carry out many more examinations and therefore reduce waiting times. “You can do an MRI within 24 to 48 hours,” assures Doctor Cabral.

A specialist in women’s imaging (breast cancer, endometriosis), Bérénice Haquet Castanedo previously benefited from a half-day slot per week at the Plaisir hospital center to carry out MRIs on her patients. The radiologist can now devote three whole days every week.

“This changes everything”, welcomes this specialist, who performs “a lot of MRIs on young women to detect endometriosis. They come from very far away, even in Eure. »

A project under consideration since the opening of this imaging center in 2018. “Very quickly, we said to ourselves that we needed an MRI,” confirms Bérénice Haquet Castanedo.

And soon a scanner

In full development, Medical Sky 78 does not intend to stop there. The center has already filed a building permit with the town hall for expand. “An ambitious and complex project,” recognizes Dominique Cabral.

After the MRI, a new extension of 100 m2 will accommodate a scanner. A floor (200 m2) will also be built and dedicated to imagery of women. Patients will be able to carry out “a diagnosis of breast cancer in one day, with everything on the same board”, promises Doctor Haquet Castanedo.
