Some figures are painful: more than 433,000 people will be diagnosed with cancer in in 2023. This is the grim observation made a few days ago by the National Cancer Institute (INca). Worse: the World Health Organization (WHO) predicts an increase in the number of cancers of 77% by 2050. That is more than 766,000 cases per year in France in around thirty years! Mainly to blame: changes in lifestyle and the aging of the population. What to do in the face of this galloping inflation? Looking for new drugs?

The INCa prioritizes prevention and screening. “We must find solutions to reduce the number of cancers, warns Professor Jean-Yves Blay, medical oncologist, general director of the Léon-Bérard Center and president of Unicancer.
