You may have noticed that several towns in the Sézan region were decked out in pink to mark the month dedicated to raising awareness of breast cancer screening. Details of the events.

1. Sézanne

The month promises to be full of activities. In partnership with the Actions Croisés association, a day is entirely dedicated to breast cancer, this Sunday, October 6 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and from 2:30 p.m. to 5 p.m., in the Headless Woman room. A workshop will be offered on breast cancer screening and the good practice of self-examination. Entrance is free and open to everyone.

Hikers will organize their 12e pink walk this Tuesday, October 8 with two routes (7 and 10 km), in the presence of Dr Aurélie Bertrand-Brice, the manager of the cancer screening site. From 8:30 a.m., volunteers will welcome participants before setting off at 9 a.m. A contribution of 3 euros will be requested for the benefit of cancer research.

The Commercial, Industrial and Artisanal Union (UCIA) of Sézanne will organize its first colorful march on Saturday October 12 from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m., departing from the Ancien Collège, with departures every 1/4 hour. A contribution of 8 euros will be requested for the benefit of the Actions Croisés association. As for the footballers, Sézanne will face Aÿ-Champagne on Sunday October 27 at the Saint-Hubert stadium at 3 p.m. The girls from the women’s teams will run a cake stand for the benefit of Actions Croisés.

2. Angle

For the 2e edition, the municipality joins the services of the Community of communes of south-west Marne (CCSSOM) to organize a dedicated day, this Sunday October 6, 2024. On this occasion, a solidarity walk via three routes of 3, 6 and 9 km and a bike ride of 10, 23 and 29 km are offered. Departures take place from 9 to 11 a.m. from the town hall car park so that everyone is back around 12:30 p.m. A prevention and awareness stand will be supervised by the Lise association.

A hairdresser will also be on hand to donate her hair for the benefit of the association. Young firefighters will give demonstrations and a pancake sale will take place next to a local farmers’ market. An aperitif will be served at 12:30 p.m., accompanied by a flash mob.

3. Montmirail

The highlight day will take place on Saturday October 12, 2024, Place Rémy-Petit, with activities all day long. A race is organized with a 6 and 12 km loop from 9:30 a.m., then a walk for children at 2:30 p.m. At the same time, breast cancer awareness stand, sale of T-shirts and collection of bras .

4. Fère-Champenoise

A pink hike will take place on Saturday October 12, 2024 from 1:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. departing from the village hall, Place Clémenceau. A ribbon sale will accompany this hike. A tea dance will be held on Sunday October 13 from 3 to 10 p.m. in the village hall. The profits from these two events will be donated to the association fighting breast cancer.
