the City of Mont-Laurier wishes to optimize avian flu prevention measures in small bird farms.

Following the recommendations of the Quebec Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (MAPAQ), the City of Mont-Laurier wishes to optimize avian flu prevention measures in small bird farms. The threat of bird flu is now present throughout the year and is here to stay.

Although the spring migration period increases the risk of exposure of domestic birds to the virus, infections can occur in any season.

Poultry owners are asked to respect protection and prevention measures, regardless of the size of the flock. If this is your case, the City of Mont-Laurier invites you to consult the website Québec.ca/Avian Flu, where you will find detailed information as well as recommendations on good practices to adopt to combat avian flu.
