European Vaccination Week

As part of European Vaccination Week taking place from April 22 to 28, 2024, the Territorial Collectivity of Guyana (CTG) continues its action to intensify vaccination coverage and raise awareness on this issue in Guyana.

Context :

The maternal and child protection centers managed by the CTG are the main vaccinators in Guyana (38,646 vaccines administered in 2023).
The increase in vaccination coverage and the reduction of social health inequalities are the priorities of the Community
territory of Guyana, vaccination catch-up missions were also carried out in Mana in conjunction with the Red Cross last year.

Goals :

• Promote vaccination at all ages as the most effective protection against infectious diseases;
• Remind yourself of the importance of updating vaccination status

Programming:

• Macouria PMI: verification of health records, vaccination prevention sessions, poster campaign;

• PMI rue du Docteur Barrat in : checking health records, updating the vaccination schedule, poster campaign;
➢ Friday April 26, 2024: prevention action on the importance of vaccination and demonstrations;

• PMI Digue Ronjon : verification of health records;

• Saint-Laurent du Maroni market : awareness stand offered in partnership with CHOG;

• PMI of Saint-Georges de l’Oyapock : awareness-raising and vaccination action in conjunction with the mobile public health team in municipalities (EMSPEC)

In , the event is coordinated at the national level by the Ministry of Health and Public Health France (National Public Health Agency), and managed regionally by the regional health agencies. In Guyana, the Community is a key player in vaccination through maternal and child protection centers.
