At the start of the evening, Wednesday January 15, 2025, firefighters were called for a start of firesignposted avenue Jean-Jaurès at Grau-du-Roi (Gard).
A man was found mort in an apartment on the 3rd floor.

Vers 20h25, 21 firefighters went to the city center of the Gard seaside resort. A violent fire is reported in an apartment located on the 3rd floor of a building.
Quickly arriving on site, firefighters evacuated around ten tenants living in this building. After more than two hours of intervention, they put out the fire before entering the apartment ravaged by flames.
They discovered the body of a man, aged 65 ansdied in the fire.
