Health spending, aging of the population… The unstoppable rise in mutual insurance prices in France

Mutual insurance prices continue to rise. A further increase is expected in 2025 of around 6%. Bad news for the French, who have seen the prices of their complementary health insurance increase by almost 27% since 2019. The fault, among other things, is the aging of the population.

Mutual, very expensive, mutual… For several years, the price of health insurance has increased significantly. Increases due to the aging of the population

And this figure will even be around 130 euros for seniors. Faced with these sums, there is no miracle recipe for saving money: you must take a close look at your recurring needs and the corresponding coverage. Especially since the annual gain can reach several hundred euros.

But sector experts do not blame mutual insurance companies for these increases, which are mainly explained by the continued increase in French health spending and the aging of the population. According to figures recently published by the Ministry of Health, complementary organizations were in deficit on their health activity in 2023.
