There was no photo in the match between LIV players and PGA Tour players. The duo composed of world number 1 and number 3 left their opponents no chance last night in Las Vegas.
Contested at night (and in a “chilly” atmosphere) on the course of Shadow Creek of Las Vegas, the match between two LIV superstars on one side, Brooks Koepka et Bryson DeChambeauand on the other two heavyweights of historic circuits, Rory McIlroy et Scottie Schefflerpromised a very great show.
The very successful trailer and a tasty exchange between the two protagonists of the last US Open during the practice session the day before set the tone.
Rory McIlroy : “I hope to play against Bryson (in singles) because I would like to give him back what he did to me at the US Open”
Bryson DeChambeau : “you did this to yourself!”
Unfortunately for the viewers the confrontation ended short and apart from these rare verbal jousts there was no match.
Some Internet users did not hesitate to express their disappointment on social networks.
The fault is largely due to the fairly low level of play displayed by the players of the LIV who have never really managed to compete with the winners of the FedEx Cup and the Race to Dubai.
Thanks to the fiery putting of Rory McIlroy and the precision of Scottie Scheffler’s big game, the two men only needed 14 holes to win.
Scheffler and McIlroy first won the 4-ball session on the first 6 holes 3 and 2, then dominated the Foursomes 1 Up on the next 6.
In the singles Scheffler was asleep 2 against Koepka, which gave the Texan the half-point victory necessary for the team of PGA Tour. Rory led 1 Up after 4 holes against BDC.
No check but Crypto
McIlroy and Scheffler shared $10 million in cryptocurrency. Which made Scheffler say that as he didn’t know much about this area, it was an opportunity to look into the subject a little.
