As summer gradually draws to a close and the start of the school year approaches in Marseille and throughout France, a Call for primary school teachers’ strike was launched by several unions, including SNUIPP 13 (National Unitary Union of School Teachers and Professors).

A call for a strike has been launched for Tuesday, September 10, approximately one week after the start of the school year, which will take place on the 2nd. Nursery and elementary schools are affected.

In addition to the FSU-Snuipp, the CGT education and Sud education are calling for massive action.

Invited on the airwaves of our colleagues at France Blue ProvenceSébastien Fournier, a union representative from SNUIPP 13, notably demanded that the government “renounce its education reforms even though it lost the legislative elections.”

He also calls for the issue of teachers’ working conditions to be addressed quickly and denounces the merits of the back-to-school assessments planned for this year.

It remains to be seen to what extent this call will be followed in the region.
