Preußen Münster’s head coach Sascha Hildmann believes that a cup coup against VfB Stuttgart is quite realistic. Despite the unsatisfactory results in the 2nd Bundesliga after promotion, the football coach believes that he can stand up to the runners-up in the first round of the DFB Cup on Tuesday (8.45 p.m./ARD and Sky).

“Every single one of us will go above and beyond to create a sensation. We are looking forward to a sold-out house and the backdrop,” said Hildmann about the highlight for the Prussians. “Kaiserslautern, Stuttgart, Hamburg – that sounds very good. We really appreciate that and are enjoying it,” said Hildmann about Münster’s unfamiliar current opponents.

Unfortunate start to the season after promotion

The founding member of the Bundesliga was promoted back to the second division in the summer after 33 years. Despite mostly good performances, Münster is still paying the price for its mistakes. On Saturday, for example, Hildmann’s team conceded a goal in Kaiserslautern shortly before the end, making the final score 0:1. With just one point from three games, the promoted team is still winless. “But I am sure that we will soon be rewarded,” said the Prussia coach.
