Borja Jiménez, the manager of rival UD Las Palmas, praised the qualities of the CD Leganés squad and the recent signings. Among these reinforcements is Munir El Haddadi, who is called up for this Sunday’s clash (18.00 hours) in Butarque.

“I am happy with the players “We already had and those who have come. We have available players (three) and we will do more things in the market. Like every year, the last days of the market in Leganés are fun,” he commented, evaluating the recent signings of Munir and Jackson Porozo as positive.

“We won’t make five more signings. There is still a salary cap, but we will fill those spots if we find players who improve what we already have,” he added. “We will be a competitive team throughout the year.”

Regarding Munir, a former UD Las Palmas player, the Leganés coach said that “he is a very experienced player. He has played for big clubs in his career. I have known him since he was a youth player in Majadahonda. He is a boy who has a lot of goals.who is very eager, hungry and wants to recover his high attacking numbers. He wants to show it here.”

Against Las Palmas, “everyone will be available”, except for the Tenerife centre-back Jorge. “We have had a very good pre-season in terms of avoiding injuries. Everyone is available and all have been called up.”

“Las Palmas was a very dominant team last year. The idea of Now it is about being more aggressive in situations, as we saw against Sevilla with deliveries into the area. “Carrión did it last year in Oviedo,” he commented. “They will take risks at the start. And we will try to repeat what we did at the Sadar (against Osasuna): Being able to feel comfortable in a medium-high block and also being good with a low block. Because it is very important that the team has these two aspects: the more cheerful and aggressive one to go to the opponent’s field and the calmer one to then move on. That was our sign last year.”

“Matches open up a lot from the 70th minute onwards. I am convinced that we will see many players in these three games, to give their best version in each round,” he added.

“We hope that the grass is in good condition so that we can play,” he said, referring to the surface at Butarque. “It is clear that it is not in the condition it will be in November. But it will not influence what happens on the pitch.”
