During the night of October 8 to 9, the A61 motorway will be closed between Castelnaudary and Villefranche-de-Lauragais as part of road renovation work.
Motorists coming from the south to Toulouse will have to plan their trip this Tuesday evening. Indeed, as part of its regular maintenance program, Vinci Autoroutes is carrying out road renovation work on the A61 motorway between Castelnaudary and Villefranche-de-Lauragais. This work, intended to “improve the comfort and safety of drivers”, will lead to the complete closure of the motorway towards Toulouse during the night of October 8 to 9, 2024, from 9 p.m. to 7 a.m.
Interventions will take place exclusively during the night, in order to limit disruption for users. This closure will require a compulsory exit at the Castelnaudary interchange (no. 21) for vehicles traveling towards Toulouse, with a return to the motorway at Villefranche-de-Lauragais (no. 20). Entrance to the A61 in Castelnaudary towards Toulouse will be inaccessible from 8 p.m. until 7 a.m. The Port Lauragais Nord service area will also be closed during this period.
To guarantee smooth traffic despite the work, diversion routes will be put in place.
