It was from his cell that the alleged mastermind recruited a teenager as a hitman. According to our information, this individual, Hacène L, is not his first attempt.

He is suspected of being involved in the two murders committed in on October 2 and 4. A 23-year-old man, detained at the Aix-Luynes penitentiary center, is suspected of having recruited a 14-year-old hitman involved in a case which left the Marseille city in mourning.

According to our information, it is Hacène L, known as “the H”. Born in July 2001 in , in Hauts-de-Seine, in the region, he has been convicted around ten times in recent years.

• Numerous convictions

First for acts of driving without a license and drug trafficking (15 months including 5 suspended) in May 2020 and aggravated violence (4 months) in August 2020 in Paris. Then again for drug trafficking (1 year and 6 months) in May 2022 in Marseille.

This individual passed through several prisons: (Hauts-de-Seine), Réau and (Seine-et-) then Baumettes and Luynes (Bouches-du-Rhône).

He was imprisoned in September 2023 at the Villenauxe-la-Grande detention center, in Aube, where he was prosecuted for insulting, threatening and physically attacking a guard.

He was found guilty, in March 2024, of having “punched him in the face when leaving a disciplinary committee” and was sentenced to 18 months in prison, accompanied by his continued detention by the judges of the Judicial Court of .

• Sponsor of an assassination in 2023

Hacène L. was then the subject of a “warrant” issued by a Marseille investigating judge, in April 2024, for acts of drug trafficking but also of criminal association with a view to preparing of a crime. He was indicted and placed in pre-trial detention for these facts.

In this case, he is suspected of having recruited, via Telegram, under the pseudonym “Le H”, in June 2023, a 17-year-old high school student, nicknamed “Tr13ze”, with a clean criminal record, domiciled in to murder two men, in exchange for 25,000 and 50,000 euros. Named Anatole (assumed first name), he sent a photo of his identity card to his sponsor before receiving a TGV ticket to Marseille in return.

At the time, Hacène L. was in detention at Réau prison. He sends precise instructions to his young recruit. He provides him with information on the locations where his targets are located and asks him to send him a photo while he was dressed in black, hooded and equipped with what looked like a Kalashnikov assault rifle, a few hours before to take action.

But the 17-year-old high school student turned back, before being reported to the police by a mysterious interlocutor, on the night of June 11, 2023, around 4:30 a.m., while he was in the 15th arrondissement of Marseille.

In an apartment, the police discover a copy of Anatole’s identity card, as well as his high school student notebook. The teenager was formally arrested the next day and placed in police custody.

• He claims to be part of the DZ Mafia

Anatole confesses and explains that he was recruited by a sponsor of the “Clan de ” to participate in a settling of scores against a backdrop of drug trafficking. At the end of his custody, the young boy attempted suicide.

His sponsor was quickly identified as Hacène L. If the criminal claimed to be part of the Marseille criminal gang of the DZ Mafia, various police sources do not confirm his membership in this group.

Reheard of these facts, in April 2024, Anatole tried, again, to end his life, before being taken home. To date, he has not been indicted in this case. His lawyer told BFMTV that his client had been “very marked by this whole story” and had not “been aware of the seriousness of the facts”.

Asked, the lawyers of Hacène L., in the case of the assassination of the VTC driver, this Friday, October 4, in Marseille “did not wish to express themselves”.
