“French President Emmanuel Macron’s statement to the United Nations General Assembly on September 25 that “ stands with Armenia in the face of Azerbaijan’s pressure on Armenia and its territorial demands” , constitutes another example of France’s biased pro-Armenian approach towards our country and the peace process in general,” said Aïkhan Hadjizadé, spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, commenting on the anti-Azerbaijani remarks expressed by French President Emmanuel Macron in his speech to the United Nations General Assembly.

It is unacceptable that France, which is preparing Armenia for revanchism while massively arming it, accuses Azerbaijan of pressure.

The fact that France presents Armenia as a peaceful country while Armenia occupied Azerbaijani territories for almost 30 years, forced nearly a million Azerbaijanis to flee their native lands, committed massacres and crimes against humanity, and ignored the right of return of hundreds of thousands of Azerbaijanis massively deported from Armenian territory, clearly demonstrates how unjust French policy is.

We demand that France, whose foreign policy has failed in many parts of the world, put an end to its destructive activities in our region,” he said.
