This month of September ends under the sign of prevention, with the launch of new appointments at key ages of life, but also the start of a major heart failure screening campaign, and, in some days, an awareness and screening operation for eye diseases. So, are you ready to take care of your health?
These new free appointments, no advance coststarget four age groups: 18-25 year olds, 45-50 year olds, 60-65 year olds, and 70-75 year olds. That’s 21 million French people in total.
The goal? Benefit from actions intended to prevent the risk of developing chronic diseases (diabetes, hypertension, cancers, etc.), take stock of your diet, your sleep, your physical activity, your mental well-being, your tobacco or alcohol consumption , sexual health, menopause or even the prevention of loss of autonomy… This is why these consultations are longer than a traditional appointment: they last 30 to 45 minutes.
Whether or not they have received an invitation to carry out this assessment, all the people concerned can now make an appointment with one of the participating health professionals (doctors, nurses, pharmacists or midwives (for women)). You will simply need to indicate when making the appointment that this is a preventive assessment.

From October 8 to 10, the Unadev (National Union of the Blind and Visually Impaired) bus will set up at Place de la Rébublique in Paris as part of World Sight Day on October 10.
A real rolling ophthalmology office, the Unadev bus is equipped with the latest generation screening devices identical to those found in hospital centers: it will therefore allow those who wish to benefit from free screening for the four blinding diseases : AMD (age-related macular degeneration), glaucoma, cataracts and diabetic retinopathy.
The only conditions: being over 40 years old, not having had an appointment with an ophthalmologist for more than a year and not being followed for an ocular pathology.
