«For personal reasons, of a medical nature, I am in theimpossibility to fully exercise this mandate. Being a Member of Parliament, I can only envisage it through a total investment in your service, at your side: to help you. This mandate was full of promises and be sure that if I take this hard decision is that I am forced to do so.»

It is with these words that MP Flavien Termet announces, in a press release, his resignation on the morning of Monday, September 30, 2024. In the end, he will not have experienced the return to parliament that he was waiting for so much.

He cites health problems. “If I am no longer able to fight body and soul for this ideal, for this hope of a better future for our nation, then I must make way.»

An already turbulent constituency

He suggests that the National Rally will present a candidate during the upcoming election, to replace him. “I know that my successor will help you and defend you with the same vigor as I would have liked to do.»

This resignation comes in a constituency already shaken by the vote in the first round on June 30, where two RN ballots appeared on the voting table. An appeal had been filed to request the annulment of the election.

But also on the opening day of the trial of parliamentary assistants within the National Rally.
