Boos all around Old Trafford. Utterly grim from United.

What an effort from Romero! The big centre-half connects with a half volley but his effort veers just wide of the post.

Dalot this time gives the ball away carelessly on the edge of his own box. Maddison lets fly with the shot but it’s an easy save for Maddison.

This is utterly miserable from United.

Another lucky escape for United. Spurs slice through again and Johnson lashes a ball across goal where Werner is waiting. Mazraoui reacts superbly and gets across to hook the ball away.

Ugarte wins the ball high up the pitch but Zirkzee isn’t sharp enough to capitalise with his poor pass quickly intercepted.

Chance for United! Mainoo slides a clever pass into Zirkzee who has found space inside the six yard area. Vicario gets down to keep it out.

Tottenham denied by the post! Werner and Udogie make mugs out of Mazraoui and Garnacho down the left with United’s press all over the place.

It comes over to Johnson on the right but his effort across goal comes back of the post.

Oh dear. Another simple pass runs out of play. Rashford opted to leave it for the overlapping Dalot. Only problem being, there was no run from the full-back.

United are sleepwalking here. Spurs look ready to carve through them every time they lurch forward over the halfway line.

Wonderful football from Spurs. Maddison leaves Ugarte in a daze with a sublime one-two with Kulusevski but Onana comes out quickly and makes the save.

Zirkzee scoops an easy pass out of play, halting a pretty lame effort from United to get up the pitch. Groans from the Old Trafford crowd already and rightfully so.
