Are rhinos threatened? Some species of rhino are threatened. The black rhino, Javan rhino, and northern white rhino (a subspecies of the white rhino) are all critically endangered.
How many rhinos are left? Today, there are only about 18 Javan rhinos left. The northern white rhino is probably endangered in the wild, with an estimated number of individuals between 0 and 2. They are therefore critically endangered. This is also the case for the black rhino, of which it is estimated that only 3,142 individuals remain.
