The regional championships start this weekend of September 7 and 8, 2024 in Normandy. The Caen agglomeration has only one representative left in Regional 1. The Leper house hopes to have a season as rich as the previous one. The podium is the objective clearly announced by his new coach Vincent Laigneau, who aims for promotion to National 3 in the medium term. The reserve of Le Havre will be the scarecrow of the group, Gonfreville and Deauville are again expected at the top.

If the R1 loses representatives around Caen, there will be many local clubs in Regional 2. Group B still promises a superb battle with at least three teams candidates for promotion: Doverwho is once again the number 1 favourite, Herouvillewhich has been going around for years, and Mondevillewho wants to move on after a year of transition following his relegation.

The relegated Version is much more in the unknown due to many departures and a dynamic to recreate. It will surely be necessary to count on the reserves of Dives-Cabourg and of theASPTT Caen to play the party pooper. In group A, Thaon will try to ride the incredible wave of last season. To do this, it will be necessary to find defensive solidity.

Regional 3 recovers Ifs et Bretteville-sur-Odon, relegated from R2. Johan Le Corre’s Ifois have no difficulty in announcing their colours: they want to move up this season. Bretteville, now coached by the duo Jonathan Groleau and Rudy Amand, is in the midst of reconstruction. These two clubs will be in group B, with Bourguébus, a team that was well strengthened during the summer and which will be one to watch.

Group C, entirely from Calvados, appears open. Ouistreham and Honfleur seem to stand out among the favourites. Pont L’Evêque could be an outsider, the Green Pathpromoted, dreams of creating a surprise. Hastings Rots, Muance, Troarn will continue to sell their skin dearly. None of the four reserve teams can move up at the start of the season. They depend on their first team and a potential promotion to Regional 1.

At the national level, it is already time for the third day in National 3. The derby between theASPTT Caen and theAG Milkthis Saturday evening, promises that at least one of the two protagonists will no longer be Fanny. PTT and AGC have accumulated four defeats since the beginning of the season. The Malherbe reservewinner of the ASPTT Caen a week earlier, will be in Brétigny, undefeated this season, on Sunday September 8.
