Employment, training, retraining… The Webedia group announced on Wednesday the launch of a digital media on the world of work aimed at young people, in collaboration with the journalist Samuel Etienne, who will host a bi-monthly show on the Twitch platform.

Called “MVP: my professional life”, this new brand intends to open “the doors of the professional world to younger generations”, notably via daily content such as “offbeat street interviews”, quizzes, decryptions or interviews with personalities, on the social networks TikTok, LinkedIn, Facebook, YouTube and Instagram, according to a press release from the media group.

The first videos have already been online since Wednesday, but the “kick-off” will take place on September 4 with the live broadcast of a bi-monthly show, from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., on Samuel Etienne’s Twitch channel, which has just over 870,000 subscribers.

The host of “Questions pour un champion” (France 3), who has been offering a press review on the streaming platform since 2020, has become “an essential face”, recalls Webedia.

In each show, he will be surrounded by “professionals from different backgrounds” and columnists, like the YouTuber Ludovic B who introduces professions to his 400,000 or so subscribers.

For the first, Samuel Etienne will welcome the host Marie Palot and the YouTuber Simon Puech on the theme of “Profession and Passion”.

Youth employment has already inspired a similar initiative. At the end of March, Hugo Travers, the founder of the HugoDécrypte news channel on social networks, launched “Elan”, an online media to inform 17-30 year-olds about entering the workforce, accompanied by a recruitment platform.

Founded in 2007 and acquired in 2013 by Fimalac, owned by billionaire Marc Ladreit de Lacharrière, Webedia publishes major online thematic portals on cinema (Allociné, The Box Office Company), video games (Jeuxvideo.com), etc.

Webedia also includes an audiovisual production activity that is particularly present in the e-sports sector, combined with a powerful network of influencers, which notably includes web stars Inoxtag, Just Riadh and Domingo.

In June, the Arnault family, via its technology investment fund Aglaé Ventures, took a “minority” stake in the group’s capital.
