Three-time Formula 1 world champion Max Verstappen recently took delivery of a luxury yacht following an order placed two years ago, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.

The Red Bull driver treated himself to a 33-meter Mangusta GranSport 33, the price of which is estimated at more than 10 million pounds sterling (around 12 million euros). He collected his ship with his partner, Kelly Piquet, in Viareggio, Italy, at the Mangusta shipyard.

The Dutchman would have named his yacht “Unleash the Lion”, in reference to his personal emblem. This new purchase adds to his collection of exceptional properties, which already includes a Dassault Falcon 900EX private jet, acquired from Sir Richard Branson for $15 million. This jet, designed for long-distance flights, can carry up to 12 passengers and features a personalized livery. Contrary to widespread rumor, however, it would not be equipped with a racing simulator.

Back in 2023, Verstappen cleared up the confusion by saying: “It was Helmut, I think, who said that, but I think he misunderstood, because I was talking to him last year.”

“I'm building a new campervan to travel around Europe to the races and I said I'll put one up there because I can just keep driving when I'm from return in the evening.”

“Because I love it, it's my hobby in a way, and it also keeps you sharp. So I think he misunderstood and said “plane”!”

“I will therefore not install one in my plane. I think that would be a bit absurd”concluded the four-time F1 World Champion.
