Formula 1 drivers, beyond their impressive salaries, can receive substantial bonuses linked to their racing performances during a single season. These bonuses, generally awarded based on Grand Prix victories or their ranking in the World Drivers’ Championship.
According to Forbes, Lando Norris won the jackpot, because in addition to his $12 million salary, the McLaren driver pocketed an additional $23 million thanks to his great season. In 2024, he won second place in the drivers’ championship after a fierce battle with Max Verstappen. His teammate Oscar Piastri also collected a significant bonus, amounting to $17 million.

Finally, Max Verstappen, despite limited performances at the end of the season due to a less competitive car, still pocketed a bonus of 15 million dollars at the end of the year.
