Formula 1 | Leclerc ‘believes’ in title for Ferrari in 2025 and thinks luck is ‘secondary’

Charles Leclerc once again reiterated how happy he was to have won at Monza and Monaco this year, Ferrari’s race in front of the fans, and his own home race in the Principality. The Scuderia driver returned to these two successes and their importance.

“In the end, Monaco and Monza are the two races that made me dream the most. And there are quite simple reasons for that” Leclerc recently said on Pirelli’s Box Box Box podcast, before specifying why these two circuits were his priority.

“Of course, you always dream of your first victory in Formula 1 when you are a child, and you don’t think about a particular race because just winning a Grand Prix is so special when you are so young.

“But then you get to Formula 1. I got my first win at Spa, and straight away you wonder what wins you really want to get in your career. And there aren’t any. only two, really.

However, even if this is accomplished, Leclerc above all wants to seek more victories and a title: “Now it doesn’t matter where I win. I just want to win as much as possible. And being able to win the world championship is all that matters to me.”

The Monegasque is not worried about the scale of the task that a world champion title represents, which he does not see as more complicated than achieving victory: “I don’t think that’s the case. To get to Formula 1, it’s not enough to have talent and hard work, you also need a bit of luck to be in the right place at the right time.”

“I feel like today luck is secondary and it’s no longer a question. What matters is us, the quality of our work as a team and the work we do let’s accomplish as a team to compete in the world championship. I feel like we’re doing well.”

Ferrari’s progress is encouraging and Leclerc does not underestimate the task that awaits the Scuderia to reach the Holy Grail and seek the world title in the years to come, but he has absolute confidence in his team: “We have a lot of work to do in the years to come. But I believe in it.”

“As I said when I re-signed with Ferrari and renewed my contract, I love Ferrari so much, but I know that to give the best and extract the best from myself, I have to believe in the project at hand. 100%, and I’m sure Ferrari is the next team to be world champions. We just have to keep working.”
