HIGHLIGHTS

Often very good on asphalt when the grip is high and constant, Takamoto Katsuta proves it by setting the best time in this special which was completed for the third time in less than 24 hours. The Japanese nevertheless only takes four tenths back from the leader, Thierry Neuville, and remains a good distance away overall.

The Belgian took advantage of this performance to slightly consolidate his position in the lead, 3s3 ahead of Sébastien Ogier, still followed by Tänak and Evans. In fifth place, Takamoto Katsuta is alone between the first group of favorites and the second made up of outsiders.

On the M-Sport side, the day continues to be very complicated with a Puma difficult to exploit on this terrain.

In WRC2, Nikolay Gryazin continues to shine despite a small loss of time mid-special. For his part, Yohan Rossel continues to look for better sensations.

PILOT REACTIONS

O. Thank you
5:50.7
There aren’t so many surprises anymore. I always dream of a good setup on the car.
S. Ogier
5:48.8
Almost like a circuit race here. A few more dirty turns, but I had fun. It was a good stage for us. There is still a long way to go.
T. Neuville
5:48.2
Special stages should not be done more than twice. I tried to attack without taking any risks in the dirty parts. It’s very bumpy. We want to have a smooth car, but at the same time, we need protection on the car against bumps. I had the same setting in all three passages of this special.
E.Evans
5:49.0
How are you. The guys are a little faster, we still have to work. Maybe I lost time in the last turns with a little dirt.
A.Fourmaux
5:59.9
It’s very frustrating. I try to do my best, but the car remains very complicated to drive. This is not good because the car moved a lot when braking and over bumps. We try to change things on each connection, but it doesn’t change much. We have difficulty on bumpy roads, but also when it’s straight.
T.Katsuta
5:47.8
I’m having a lot of fun. The conditions are tricky, but I have the confidence to attack. The next two stages should be very dirty.
S. Pajari
5:54.3
Pretty good. I’m trying to have fun, especially in this stage because it’s clean and easier to attack. We try to progress little by little. The main thing is to stay very clean. For me, it’s not a bad thing to do this special three times.
G.Munster
6:00.9
This morning we also had difficulty in this stage. We found it a little better this time. But we have to find something at the back to be better.
J.Serderidis This one was cleaner compared to the other stages. I think this is the last time of the day I’ll really be able to have fun.
O. Solberg It didn’t seem bad. I made some setup changes, I’m trying to learn new things. When there is grip, it gets better and better. I would like to be softer in some places, harder in others. You have to find a compromise in terms of setup.
Y.Rossel It’s currently a little complicated with the setup and my driving as well. I’m here, but I have to work to do better. The main problem is the driver.
