While he is experiencing his first season in the premier category, Pedro Acosta made a strong impression by becoming the undisputed leader of the KTM brand as a rookie. Author of four podiums and a pole position, the “Mazarron Shark” is on another planet compared to his comrades Brad Binder, Jack Miller and Augusto Fernandez. In the Drivers’ Championship, the Spaniard collected a total of 181 points, positioned in sixth place, behind the South African with two units behind. A week ago, during the Japanese Grand Prix, the Tech3 driver entered the front row with the best time in qualifying, ahead of double reigning champion Francesco Bagnaia. Unfortunately, her two mistakes during the sprint and main events deprived her of her first success in MotoGP. But despite his two falls, many personalities in the paddock are unanimous in saying that Pedro Acosta has real talent on the handlebars of a motorcycle.

Compliments from an icon

Asked about the prowess of Pedro Acosta, MotoGP legend Dani Pedrosa spoke about the talent of his young compatriot. According to him, the latter has already acquired an impressive level worthy of an experienced pilot in this area. It is certain that the Spaniard should take control of KTM in the coming years.

“What is missing? We need to help him a little more with the bike, that’s clear. The recent changes we have made since the summer are already paying off, and he has shown it in these last few races. But the standard that Ducati riders set is very high. I think he just needs a little more experience. His debut really surprised me; I was positively surprised. And from what I knew about him, I really appreciate how, with his attitude, he takes more and more leadership within the team. He’s not in the factory team yet, but next year he will be there, and I think that will also help him take another leap forward.”
