Pecco Bagnaia is at a turning point in his career. After winning the 2022 and 2023 MotoGP titles in quick succession, the Italian was narrowly beaten by Jorge Martin last season after an intense fight. Eager to return to the top, he will have to face a troublesome teammate. Exit Enea Bastianini, now room for Marc Marquez within the official Ducati team. Returning to his best level last year aboard Gresini, the Spaniard intends to write a little more history by winning a ninth world championship title.
“It’s a motivation for me”
Aware of the stature of his teammate, Bagnaia wants to use it as motivation as he explained to Motorsport : “I know that being alongside a rider like him, a champion like him who has eight titles, some of which acquired in difficult situations without having the best bike, is a motivation for me, to be as efficient as him when things aren't ideal. In general, I find my motivation in everything. The arrival of Marc is a change as was that of Bastianini. The difference is that Marc has won eight titles, so he is clearly a great example from a sporting point of view and in terms of performance. So I'm going to try to beat him, but also learn everything I can. » The fight promises to be merciless between the two men.
