Ok it's a little early, but this is definitely an article to bookmark for the summer! After the Olympics, we were promised that we could swim without suffering in the Seine in 2025, and for intra-muros, three sites are already known: au Bras Marie (opposite the Île de la Cité), at Bercy (at the foot of the Simone-de-Beauvoir footbridge), and in the west at the Bras de Grenelle (between the port and Île aux Cygnes) , all this framed by buoys, pontoons, showers and lifeguards.

32 potential locations

But as there's more to life than just Paris, we've come up with the list for you dozens of other swimming places to visit on the banks of the Seine and the this summer throughout the region. It is a report from Apur (the Parisian urban planning workshop) dating from April 2024 which serves as a basis with a total of 32 potential locations. On the Seine, 20 sites are being studied, including the Halles glacis in Ivry, the Thorez beach on Ile-Saint-Denis, the Choisy interdepartmental sports park, the Adolphe-Giquel quay in Rueil-Malmaison or the pond from the Noues de Seine to Viry-Châtillon.

Study of state services

On the Marne side, we can already announce that the sites of Maisons-Alfort, Banc-de-Sable beach in Joinville and Beach de Saint-Maur will be accessible. It remains to be seen whether Montaigne du Perreux beach, the old mill or the Yvette-Horner promenade in Nogent will join them.

Before being validated, bathing sites must be studied by state services, which monitor the technical and especially health aspects of each project. As a reminder, the swimming plan around the Seine has required an investment of 1.4 billion euros over the past ten years. The splash is expensive.
