According to The Parisiana file was submitted to the police headquarters to allow the peloton to pass through the Butte Montmartre during the 21st and final stage of the Tour de this summer, like the route taken during the Olympic Games. If the magic of Jeux ended last September, the memories remain engraved in the minds, in particular that of the peloton climbing the rue Lepic to Montmartre on August 3, to the cheers of a dense and enthusiastic crowd. ASOthe organizer of the Tour de Francewould consider a final stage using this Olympic route, in addition to the legendary Champs-Élysées.

A proposal… and reservations

According to The Parisiana file was filed with the Paris Police headquarters a few weeks ago in which it is indicated that “the peloton would like to take the Games route three times in the famous rue Lepic then around the Butte Montmartre, after entering Paris via the Quai d'Issy, as it has been used to for years, and having crossed the Seine at the Concorde. After the loops in the 18th arrondissement, the descent towards the Champs-Élysées, where the finish would still be judged, would be via Rue Royale.

However, the police headquarters have reportedly expressed reservations about this bold proposal. Although this request aims to mark the 50th anniversary of arrivals on the Champs-Élysées, significant logistical, security and financial constraints are currently hampering its validation.
