At only 20 years old and after a great season spent within the CIC U Nantes Atlantique, Pierre-Henry Basset change of horizon. The young Frenchman has signed up for the 2025 season in favor of the reserveXDS Astana. How was the offseason and signing with your new team, XDS Astana Devo?
“My offseason went well. I was able to rest well and enjoy the family. I had signed my contract before starting the offseason. I had the opportunity to continue with CIC U Nantes Atlantique and I also had a few other opportunities but it was with the XDS Astana team that I decided to commit.”
What motivated this choice?
“The fact of being able to continue learning quietly without skipping steps. I am still young even if today Cycling has evolved I think that we must take the steps one after the other.”
Is there any way we could see you move up to the first team during the season? Is this the objective anyway?
“Yes we will have the opportunity to race from time to time with the WorldTour which makes learning easier. We have already shared a first training course with them in December. And yes obviously the objective is to join the first team as quickly as possible possible.”
How do you judge your first season on the Continental circuit with a great victory at the GP de Plouay?
“The season went really well, I learned a lot and progressed. I am satisfied with my first season. In Plouay, it was really crazy, especially since there was a large part of my family there. also had many team partners In addition, doing the double with Clément.
