Since its cessation in 2018, women's cycling has changed a lot with the appearance of numerous races including the Tour de France Women which is one of its main objectives for the next three years.
“I'm 32, I don't have many years left. I realize I'm one of the old ones, it's weird. But I still want to perform at the highest level. I closed the mountain biking chapter. In 2025, I will strive to be the best possible to be able to win the Tour de France in the years to come,” declared Pauline Ferrand-Prévot during the team's first meeting Visma-Lease a Bike where she responded to the media.
Pauline Ferrand-Prévot: “I have to relearn how to ride in a peloton”
“When I look at my power data, I have the level, assured Pauline Ferrabnd-Prévot. I have to relearn how to ride in a peloton and study the races. Visma Lease a Bike has already won the Tour with Jonas Vingegaard. So they know how to do it. I wanted a team capable of supporting me. I am also happy to find Dutch training. I directly felt a family spirit. And at the same time everything is very organized. » The Frenchwoman shares her life with Dylan van Baarlealso a member of the Dutch team, which confirmed the choice of the Rémoise. “But I made the decision alone. I spent 5 years at Rabobank and had the best years of my career there. »
Objective Tour de France Women for PFP
« I will be at the start, if I am selected« , a dit Pauline Ferrand-Prévot about the Tour de France Women 2025. And to add: “I obviously saw the course. I'm glad there's no timer. It will be easier for me. It's a good route for me with a good mix between short bumps and longer passes. I'm curious to do the reconnaissance to see what I need to work on to be at the top. It's more and more difficult to shine in different disciplines because the level is always higher in mountain biking or on the road. With the races, the altitude courses… the year is not long enough to do everything.”
