Organized on Saturday November 2 by Vélo Sport Brivadois, this cyclo-cross race, run in a new area close to the EREA in Brioude, delivered good performances for the fourteen participants from the Vellave club. Indeed, with two victories and three podiums this new exercise is conclusive.

The Fink brothers at work

In the small category of U7 (chicks) Marin Fink launched into the deep end of cyclo-cross by starting with a victory, decided at the start of the second lap where he took the lead of the race and never left it .

Adrien Caron, new in the U11 (Pupils) category, demonstrated great qualities by constantly fighting against older competitors. He finished 4th out of 14 entries.

The platoon of twenty U13s (Benjamins) will once again be subjected to the law of Alban Fink. Although he was very last on the starting grid, he gradually overtook all his competitors to, from mid-race, go it alone and constantly increase his lead until crossing the finish line. Valentin Raucourt ranks 14th.

In the women's category, Isalyne Schatz reached the podium by taking 3rd place.

At the start of the twenty minutes of racing in the U15 category (Minimes), Elio Arnaud and Lysandre Schatz will, just like last week in Firminy, race together. Lysandre got off to a superb start but regressed at the start of the second lap to settle for fourth. Elio in his wheel finally overtakes him and achieves a great performance, failing at the foot of the podium against twenty competitors. Behind, Maëlig Guéguen and Raphaël Le Boucher in the discovery phase, rank 14th and 16th respectively.

Antoine Bonnaud shakes up the peloton

At the bell of 1:15 p.m., fourteen U17s (Cadets) set off for thirty minutes of confrontation on a circuit on a winding and hilly meadow, adapted to the discipline, and, moreover, pleasant for the spectator in terms of visibility.

At the first corner Antoine occupies the lead and leads at full speed until halfway through the second lap where he is joined by Alexis Bizouerne from VS Brivadois, the future winner. Now side by side, the two riders treat the numerous spectators to a superb battle, taking turns leading the race. In the last minutes, Alexis took a few steps and took the territorial victory with some 26 seconds ahead of his opponent.

Léo Jouve paid for his efforts

Often flirting with the podiums during the last competitions, Léo ensures a great performance this Saturday. Fighting with the 2nd and 4th during the forty minutes of effort, he knew how to remain patient until he briefly threatened the future runner-up. Finally settling in third position, he will maintain this rank until the finish line. His comrade Arno Morel finished 7th out of the 13 starters.

Cyril Arnaud does well in Access

Third at the first turn after the takeoff, Cyril settles in this place during the first lap. Losing a position subsequently, he fought for a long time with his direct competitor before unfortunately going down. So delayed, he crossed the line 5th out of the 20 entered, 1'22'' behind the winner. As for Alexandre Raucourt, on track for his second cylo-cross of the season, he is in 8th place.
